[ project ]
a series of experiments in which binary signals are transformed into visible states Nerve is an attempt to think through (not simply reflect on) questions of transformation in our modern lives by drawing from computer-programmed inputs and outputs (as well as the digital conversions that take place as information travels from one to the other) and working with the rhetoric of formalised visual patterns. A series of 0s and 1s form a code that in turn can be converted into a numerical signal that crosses oceans in a matter of moments, travelling at a speed of three hundred thousand kilometres per second. This digital realm exists in a completely different dimension to our own, but thanks to what it yields after it has been “decoded”, you are able to catch a glimpse, in symbol form, of this world.
